So, Joe and I went to the Pomona swap meet yesterday morning.
For those that don't know, it is a very large auto centric swap meet. They hold it once a month and it is divided into import and American autos and parts. Import is generally German centric mostly VWs and Porsches. So, we're wandering around looking for the odd 914 part and there at this one booth is a set of 4 ratty looking pedrinis. I walk up to them and say out loud to Joe "These are either very common or very rare." Rare meaning that they could be the late '72 early '73 variety that I've never seen in real life outside of a picture of the inside in a 914 book I have. Turns out they are the more common variety that'll only work on the early cars. So we laugh a bit...and I ask the guy at the booth "How much?" He says with much attitude "Eight." I reply honestly "Eight dollars??" He replies sarcastically "Yeah, Eight DOLLARS." Joe and I literally busted up laughing and walked off. Pedrinis are nice wheels and all...but $800?

Sorry to deviate, but nn the subject of the Pomona meet, does anyone know where I can find a schedule? I never seem to know when this thing is happening until all of you get these deals!

Sounds like Pamona to me. I was giving you a deal, Mike, but $300 for nearly perfect condition would be about the going price. I think Fuchs go for about $400.
But then I see people buy Empi's for pover $100 per wheel - new.... James

Yeah, I see the fuchs on evilbay go for betwen $300 to $600, depending on condition.
Wheel enhancements in culver city quoted me $400 PER WHEEL in refurbished to original specs. If I provided the wheels, refurbishing them was $149 per wheel.

That's pretty steep. At the Next Don and Ron's Swapmeet, talk around with the guys. There are some people that will polish wheels for like $30 each. Mirror finish.
They have the tools and the know how. James

I _WISH_ I could get $800 for a set of Pedrini's.
In that world I can also get a set of Weber 40IDA for $200, with linkage and manifolds..... James Dammit! I woke up!
