Stuck in 4th

After the success of the tranny work on Saturday, I got a chance (after securing some much needed CV pins) to drive the car.. Once the car was together I drove it around the neighborhood, then on a longer (20+ mile drive) without a problem.

I was on my way to the crab feast in Fairfax, starting to downshift from 4th to 3rd.. Pushed the clutch but the car would not budge out of 4th gear!! Some time and a tow later I had the car back at the garage where I pulled the shift linkage (shifter ball on tranny itself was stuck) I drained the brand new gear oil and pulled the shifter fork, that also looked okay and came out freely.

Any one have any ideas?? What is my next step?

Thanks for the (ongoing) help!
~Eric

adjust linkage!

hey-
put it all back together and fiddle with adjustments at shifter and shifter ball in minutes amounts. I think your klinkage got bound up. It is a pretty good.... uh, typo- klinkage. Yeah. The available path for that shifting rod is pretty minimal. My 2 cents...
