Value of original 914/6

I know of a complete car that is said to need a complete restoration. Looking at the cost of such work (high) and asking prices for the few restored cars I've seen (varying) it's hard to land on a reasonable price for this car.

Would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the value and on restoration experiences. I'm interested in knowing how easy these are to restore, costs, pitfalls. I know from some of the excellent resources out there about what to look for (rust, rust, rust).

It's not supposed to be a rust bucket but if it is I'll probably pass on it.

How much is the car?

If it needs everything, it will probably cost about 2-3 times what it's worth for a top-notch restoration, we all know that, we aren't scared..

..ok we do worry a bit..

I dunno what all it needs.
