Rear 914 Trunk Lid Unlatches

My rear trunk lid latches fine when parked, but after driving the car I find the trunk lid has become unlatched. Do I have excessive flex in the chassis or is it a misaligned trunk lid or worn latch? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sounds like a worn latch. The end should not be hook shaped. It is possible to build it back up to the right shape with some weld (or maybe brazing?) and a file. I remember some photos over on the 914world website that someone took. You might be able to find them if you search.
