Headed to the East Coast Ramble!

OK, guys and gals--I'm off to the East Coast Ramble for the weekend! (And I mean out the door now!)

See y'all Monday. Be good while I'm gone...

Maybe he's driving from CA? If so, he's a real trooper!!!

I flew out, had fun in Vermont, flew back again. Didn't drink as much as last year. (Whew! Good thing, too--I still don't remember bits of last year's event!!)

Spent a few hours driving a bone stock 76 2.0, complete with skinny 165-width tires!! (Thanks, Ed!!) I forgot how nice and quiet and relatively civilized a 914 could be.

I also got to drive Ed V's turbo. Wow, talk about smooooooth! The power just comes on smoothly, which makes it feel slower than it really is--the speed totally sneaks up on you. Well balanced, from what I could tell, and very nice brakes.

And, I got to drive Dunkle's "healthy" 3.0 Six conversion. Wow. Just.... Wow.

Thanks for the compliments Dave. It was great having you out here with us again this year. Thanks to Pelican too.

You missed a great run up mount Equinox yesterday morning. It was a "white Knuckle" ride for the wifes and girlfriends, but it was a blast. It looks like we will be getting that mountain road closed off for us next year for a timed run up and down it.

Regards,
Ed

Dave - It was good to see you again, thanks again to Pelican. Jen was happy to help arrange the 914 loaner, we're glad you enjoyed it.

Many thanks to Ralf and Joe for planning this years ramble. Plenty of twisty roads and the resort was very Porsche friendly.

I've put up a few pictures from the ramble, several of the Equinox run. I was glad to learn that I wasn't the only one to get an earfull from the SO before we reached the summit.

I also put my pictures up.

Many thanks to Jen for bringing your 76 up as well! She's cute and into music... Too bad she's too young for me!!
