First engine Drop...pic
Ok, I know dropping the engine is probably not a big deal, but this was my first time ever. Following the PP tech article made this really easy (thanks PP) and I was stoked to get it out of the car in only a couple of hours by myself. Now I am trying to get the heads off. My question is, how do I get the heat exchangers off. I have the bolts off, but the heat exchangers are not budging. Any secret to this? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Tap them off very lightly. you should junk those rusty he's and get some SSI Stainless 2.0L ones.

Thanks Geoff, I got them off and yes I am going to replace them soon...I took the head off and #3 and 4 cylinders. Could you take a look at the pics and tell me what you think. I didn't find any cracks on the head or cylinders, just what appears to be a build up of carbon...

They need to be really clean to find cracks....Spark plug boss to either valve seat likly

You should have them blasted to see if there are any cracks

Exhaust valve seat to port too. Not much metal there and it gets plenty hot. My 2.0 heads had three cracks.
