Unhappy popping out of first gear

Hi,

I've been lurking here for quite some time and I've used
the information here for many of my problems.

Just reciently, my car has started to pop out of first gear into
neutral when I start moving. I can hold the stick back and forceably keep it in gear but this is not the answer.

I've checked the engine mounts and they seem to be OK.
The linkage is next.
Is there anything else that I should be looking at or that does not seem obvious.

Looks like a good weekend to work on the car!

thanks,
john

I know you don't want to hear this, but usually popping out of 1st and/or having trouble getting it into 1st gear are signs the slider and the dogteeth need replacing.
