Unhappy Help, Stuck Door

Just bought my second teener, a clean 1.7. Have one problem though... I can't get the passenger door open. Unlock the door and tried from the inside and from the outside... nothing. I don't want to force it open. Do I need to take the door panel apart from the inside? Has anyone else had stuck doors? Thanks for the help.

Probably.....you might have two problems....broken plastic slider in the oustside door handle and too long a screw in the interior door handle. That screw often gets replaced with the wrong one and it interferes with it opening.

Before you try to take the entire door panel off, take off the inside door handle plastic trim thingy (technical term) and remove the screw that holds the inside door handle in. Pull it out a little from the door, you will find that it has a metal rod connected to it. That rod pulls on the door latch and opens the door. Grab that rod with a pair of vice grips and pull towards the front of the car and see if the door opens. Some of these cars require that you push on the door with your shoulder while you pull. Usually caused by worn out bushings and linkages getting sloppy from too many years.
