warm/hot start problems
My '76 2.0 FI often won't start
when warm or hot though it always starts perfectly when cold (or at least cool). The engine turns over with no problem but will not start. All FI components are new excepting the CSV which needs replacing (but should in anycase be irrelevant to the current problem). I have a moderate vacuum leak and thus run it for the time being with the temp sensor I disconnected. The air/fuel mixture (as adjusted on the brain) is probably a little out of whack (as I have been playing with it to compensate for the vacuum leak). Anybody with any suggestions on potential solutions? Thanks ------------------ |

Next time it happens, pull a spark plug and check for spark? The condenser can get weak when hot and prevent a strong spark. If you have spark, give it a shot of instant start to see if it will fire. There may be something preventing the injectors from firing. Good luck and I'd get the vac leaks fixed asap.
