"What? No Donkeys?" Nah, they had their own show to put on. . .

The course was brand new concrete in a "L" shape with one short and one long leg. The U-turn at each end was 1st gear stuff so the Rennshift was great, never missed a shift all weekend. About 2/3s of the way down the long straight there was a traffic circle which I was doing about 120 MPH or so and you had to brake since the far side of the circle was hidden and from the middle out was off-camber! That is where most of the damaging crashes occured when the driver's brakes would get cooked and they'd forget??!! The tires were moved around a lot by various drivers but my BMW320 brakes worked great so I never got a stripe. There was a huge number of spectators and they would eventually get right out to the curbing but fortunately no one got hit even though several cars went into the crowds!! This is the first time I was racing CRXs and Jettas and they are quick up to about 60 MPH or so and then the six would out drag them to the next corner where I could usually out brake them. The guys were facinated by the Goodyear slicks since they are very rare in Mexico. All in all it was a blast and we'll probably do the races again next year.
