I was just at a clients house and they had a perfect 67 they bought with 1000 miles on it back in 67. The car was perfect in every detail and unrestored. It still only has about 13k on it. I really liked it. It makes me want to buy this one.

Hey, JOHN KELLY! FLARE THAT!
I love hating him for taunting me with his beautiful work. I like that car, I've never had one of those. wow... I was looking at it, and all of a sudden, the smell overcame me! Man, I just love that scent! M

I sold my 72 KG to buy my 914. It was a lot of fun. I sold mine for $1600 in 89 I think. It was a fun car and really easy to fool around with, but reallly tiny inside too. I wonder about the interior pic where you can see wires hanging out of the steering column. Electrical problems can drive ya nuts in any car. Like any air cooled VW, you can always put new parts in pretty cheap or really expensive- your pick. I used to get mine worked on (stuff I didn't wanna do myself in the pre-garage days) at a place where the unoffical motto was "we use a BIGGER HAMMER. I really like KGs.

I used to really want a KG (test drove a few) but I got over it after I got my 914. I still think they're good cars though.

It needed a home ...
so last weekend, I checked for rust ...had none. For an east coast car it is just plain incredible. Had to buy it ... so now I have two beetles. It is a 66 with 80K original, I am the second owner. I would trade it for a ghia

Always check Ghias for nose bondo. They tend to get popped in the nose.

Also,
Check over the top of the headlights for rust, check over the tops of the front air intakes (located between the headlights) for rust, check under the spare tire for rust, and check the rocker panels for rust. Remember, Ghias AND 914's are assembled by Karmann- I still believe that is German for rust.... Also check the seating pattern to see if you like it. The pedals are located a bit to the right and on a long trip (or at random) your right leg can lock up with a charleyhorse (ouch!). And, those bumpers don't look right for that year and the genuine for real fake wood dash is missing. Ken |

Is the dash cut-out for a DIN radio? It needs a new carpet kit, driver-side door needs re-aligning, cheap white respray (was red)
If everything works well and no major rust issues, $2500 at best.

actually the bumpers are correct for that year 1972 is when they changed. however the lowback seats are way wrong for that year. I currently own a '71 "oh my god that's green" ghia that I got from an old retired guy in Amarillo. never been hit, perfect floorpans, has A/C, sweet interior, but it does have a little headlight rust

Crap - put up an ad for an effin' VW and everyone becomes a concourse weenie. Go buy a 911.
