Hi folks. What's the general consensus out there regarding the adapters that are available? There's one from Patrick Motorsports, and then there is one from KEP.
Sadly enough, I don't know much about either (been working with the early flywheels on my conversion only). Which is better (in your opinion), and what clutch packages can you run with each one? -Wayne

While I have not used the adapter you mentioned, I have used other products that Jim Patrick makes and sells and they have all been great. I have used the six conversion engine mount, six conversion sheet metal and his 901 pully for the clutch cable.

So, Wayne, what's wrong with staying with the early flywheels? You're talking about flywheels tha use the 'push' kind of pressure plate rather than the 'pull' kind, right? Is there a cut off point where the flywheel bolt pattern on the 911 crank changes? Seems like there are a lot of spring rates and discs available for the early setup.

I was told by KEP that Patrick gets theres from them.
I have KEP'S starter ring and clutch pressure plate package for my 3.0's flywheel works great.

There is a 3.0 "conversion" flywheel, which is pretty much an early 911 flywheel with the mounting holes welded up and new ones drilled in. The 3.2 version (possibly the 3.6 version as well) also has the teeth that the DME read. --DD
