weber book

I did a search and just keep finding reference to the weber book. Which is the best weber book for a novice carb person who wants to know more about these creatures and to rebuild them. I have 40IDFs

There are a couple of Weber books listed here http://www.racetep.com/rebuildrejet.html#webbook . I don't have either so I can't comment on how good they are.

I dont know of any books, but the way I learned how to rebuild one is to have someone who knows how to rebuild them (properly!) teach you. Webers are fun to reubild.......unlike Zeniths....

Tomlinson's book is pretty comprehensive, including info on tuning.

Yes we are related...but he wouldn't even give me a discount...

Ditto on the book recommendation,..it is geared for the novice, (laymans instructions) but also gets technical when it needs to be.

There is a paperback book from CBs that has guided me through every weber event I have had (real and imagined). "Weber tune-up manual" or similar. It is really concise about jet selection effects, diagnostics, and fine tuning. It is a low-tech kinda book, and really practical.

thomlinsons book (cb performance) is the one. it's a good read too. the evolution of claudes buggies to cb is interesting. THE hot rod vw guys in the 60's and 70's. the setup proceedure and trouble shooting guide is worth the cost of admission. if you have carbs you need this book.
