What the heck is that? 3 Cylinders? 100 Horsepower? Why? Looks like they wanna step on our turf - maybe we should meet them after school and rumble. ![]()

Looks like a mini Cayenne with removable Targa top. I like it, but the performance is gonna have to improve.

Or maybe a cross between an R5 and a Dauphine, since it's rear engined. U-G-L-Y!

Reminds me of a BWM Z3 Coupe - only even uglier!

Reminds me more of the new Z4 roadster, which I think is quite a bit uglier than the Z3 roadster. Almost like they made a coupe version of the Z4... Ugh, what a revoltin' concept!!!

Reminds me of the smart cars that are all over Europe.

Looks like a bad rendition of the M Coupe. I wonder what it would be like with a Viper Motor ... hmmmmm.

Does make you wonder why no one said, "Hey, fellas, look at it again..."
But what sells is NOT what a 914 is at all, so we are a very, very poor marketing group for this car. I vastly prefered the smart roadster posted here a few months ago. I think the closest in concept has to be toyotas mr2, or mrx, whatever. I've never been in one. I'm sure it has cupholders. Oh well... It still is a batter concept than another nike swish on wheels. |

I sorta like the looks, but they tacked too much on it.
Isn't it ironic that owners of 914s are calling other quirky looking cars ugly?

BTW, as many of you know the 914 was based on a design study for some type of special construction materials. Has anyone ever seen photos of the design study? Just curious as to how much it was modified to become the 914 we know.

Gugelot was the firm. They have a pic in "Excellence Was Expected"... Accidentally left mine at Mom's house, whoops!!
Though other research (by Kerry Morse, as written up in Panorama magazine a few years back) says that Butzi Porsche claimed that the design was all his. --DD

I guess I'm just odd because I really like the way the 914 looks too. Look at this beauty on ebay right now.
