On another MS thread, I saw a post of yours where you mentioned that you may use TMW throttle bodies for a MS project. I am making plans to either use MS or dual Webers to replace the single carb on my 1.8 and I am very interested in the throttle body approach instead of using the stock components. What parts would be needed to go the throttle body route? It seems that using new components would be far easier, although more expensive, than trying to find the old l-jet parts. Your opinion is greatly appreciated!

I said that it could be done, not that I had done or will be doing it.

You would need the throttle bodies and manifolds, a throttle linkage, fuel rails, injectors, wiring, and some sensors. And a high-pressure fuel pump and some sort of fuel pressure regulation. GM and Ford parts are cheap and plentiful, and MS is set up to deal with the one or the other.

What sensors you need depend on what you want to use. MS is so very configurable that you can do just about anything you want. I'd suggest engine temp (head temp) and intake air temp at a minimum, and possibly Wideband O2 as well. But the latter is $$$. Manifold pressure probably wouldn't be that useful, of course, but throttle position would be needed.

Some notes,

You can not use standard air cleaner mounts due to the location of the fuel rail mount on the IDFs (2930 series). Perhaps you would have better luck with the IDAs but the manifolds are more $$$

Order parts for the fuel rails carefully. Its threaded for AN-6 but there is no mating flare on the inside.
