where is engine serial number?
I have looked everywhere and there are no numbers on the block.
Block is completely washed... My project |
Right hand side, near the bellhousing. If you look down while standing on the passenger side of the car, the number is almost directly beneath you, perhaps a bit in towards the center and towards the rear.
|
Look down at the oil filler tube. Now look just in front of it towards the front of the car. BUT-not all cases have s/n's so...
|
If it was from a 912E the case will not have a serial number... Some other 76 914s also do not have any numbers on the case, just the blower housing..
|
It has no number at oil filler tube. It is -73 1,7 but it has similar heads as T-2. Should 914 engine intakemanifold been bolted with 3 bolts or 4 like T-2 / 411/412. I have seen many heads with that 3 bolt intake
|
3 bolt intakes are for 2.0 914 heads only. all others had 4 bolts.

what engine is this
one of my blocks has this stamped number on it...CJ081941..it has dual port heads...what is it???...thank you
|
All Type IV engines have dual-port heads...
According to this website, your CJ case is from a Euro-spec Bus, and would have been 2.0 liters originally, and making 70 HP. --DD |
