where is engine serial number?

I have looked everywhere and there are no numbers on the block.
Block is completely washed...

Right hand side, near the bellhousing. If you look down while standing on the passenger side of the car, the number is almost directly beneath you, perhaps a bit in towards the center and towards the rear.

Look down at the oil filler tube. Now look just in front of it towards the front of the car. BUT-not all cases have s/n's so...

If it was from a 912E the case will not have a serial number... Some other 76 914s also do not have any numbers on the case, just the blower housing..

It has no number at oil filler tube. It is -73 1,7 but it has similar heads as T-2. Should 914 engine intakemanifold been bolted with 3 bolts or 4 like T-2 / 411/412. I have seen many heads with that 3 bolt intake

3 bolt intakes are for 2.0 914 heads only. all others had 4 bolts.

one of my blocks has this stamped number on it...CJ081941..it has dual port heads...what is it???...thank you

All Type IV engines have dual-port heads...

According to this website, your CJ case is from a Euro-spec Bus, and would have been 2.0 liters originally, and making 70 HP.
