Door panels
Ok, So i am replacing the passanger door on my 71 914 with one of the later ones (not my idea, some moron ran into my door whilst i was parked in the street and took off).
For the life of me, i cannot get the trim around the inner door handle off. There is some reference to a screw that need to be removed, but i do not see one. Supposedly on later cars, you can thread the thing OVER the handle, but thats not working either. Short of taking a screwdriver to the trim and prying the heck out of it, how do I get the thing off? |

That's pretty much what you do... The early cars have a plastic insert in the "cup" part behind the lever. You have to get that cup insert out, then you will see the screw if you pull the lever in the "open the door" direction.
