They usually sell on ebay for between $50 and $90.
Money back guarantee, huh? I'm trying to buy a complete d-jet system but I think I offended the seller when I asked him to test if the MPS will hold a vacuum before I buy it.

The seller just doesn't think he can satisfy you- no matter what.
It does hold a vacuum, but I think I'll just keep it for a rainy day rather than taking the chance of being plagued by it.

When I asked you to do a couple simple tests on the parts (e.g., test if the MPS will hold a vacuum) I did not ask anything more from you than I did from the 17 buyers that I've bought from on ebay -I have not left any negative feedback yet on ebay. I told you that I would include a statement with the Paypal payment saying that I understand that there is no warranty on any of the parts and if you wanted, I could fax you the same signed statement. Would you buy an MPS without knowing if it holds a vacuum?! Jake, here are a couple of statements that you have made in just the past few days. "I would take 400 in two separate payments." "I believe in 'old fashioned' business, hand shakes, and doing what a man says he will do." |

This is exactly why I refuse to sell it to you.......
I would take 400.00 in two separate payments, from anyone OTHER than yourself.... We never had a deal, we never had any type of firm sale, no money changed hands. I was trying to avoid an issue LIKE THIS, but maybe I should have taken the money! Nope, it ain't worth it. Please quit whining and go find another system, I don't have time for this.

Yup! money back if its dead. a guy asked me for one of my MPSs. I told him if it does not work, I wont take his money. I just needed to know how much money to ask for.

IMO, used MPS's that hold a vacuum, are unmolested (not rebuilt, and original Bosch epoxy seal in place), and have been used for several years are worth no more than $75 to $100. Why? Because you have no idea of how much fatigue the full-load diaphragm has endured, and how much longer it will last. Once it starts to leak, the unit is good for little more than a rebuilt core.
Performance is still selling rebuilts, for a fairly reasonable price, about $250. While not as nice as a Bosch OEM unit, they are a hell of a lot cheaper and have a brand-new full-load diaphragm and bellows, so they'll last a long time.

Brad are the one's from Performance calibrated properly? I remember reading on one of the boards, that the ones from Bret Inst. are all calibrated for the 1.7. Just curious.
Thanks. |

I read the same thing you did (on Rennlist), Bret calibrates all of their MPS's to a single standard. Believe it or not, it shouldn't be that bad a thing. The part-load adjustment on the majority of MPS's is exactly the same, the difference is in the full-load adjustment. 1.7 and 2.0 MPS's have the same part-load adjustment, so it should be OK. If you're really determined to get it right, you can follow info on my MPS web page and re-calibrate your MPS, several people here on PP have done this and get good results.

Maybe we can get Geoff to chime in on this one. I read the same thing about all the rebuilt MPS being adjusted for the 1.7. Years ago, I got a rebuilt 2.0 MPS from that place in Georgia. The car ran better, but seemed to run lean. It pulled ok until I hit about 4,000 RPM and then started to sputter. I ended up replacing just about everything in the FI system, but it still seemed to run lean. I got to thinking about it and contacted Geoff. I just swapped it out with a rebuilt unit from Geoff. Now it pulls hard all the way to 5,500 RPM.
I don't know what was wrong with mine. Geoff said he was going to take it apart and look at it. I do know that it had the 2.0 part number stamped on it. I also know that my car runs much better at the upper end of the tach now. Regards, Daris |

I had Geoff do one for me also. I noticed that the diaphrams are different in the 1.7 and 2.0. I wonder if that has any bearing on how they function.
