Steve,
That's great news...there will be, now, three green 914's there...you know what they say...yellow is faster...but green is worth more...good to hear from you. Ed

Ed, do you live out O'fallon way? I passed a yellow 914 going the other way on I-70 a couple of times last summer.

Steve,
Sorry...mine 914 driver is as green as yours. I live about 10 miles north of Elephant Rocks State Park...in Washington county. Ed

Hi Steve,
I'll chime in here. I live in O'Fallon, however, I owned a white 74 as my daily driver up until this year. I now have a red 72. The yellow 914 you may be referring to belongs to a fellow named Steve Lumer. Steve bought the car from a local garage for roughly $800. It had a blown 4 cylinder engine and the former owner needed cash. Sweet deal. After spending roughly $25,000; bare metal repaint, rust repair, and a professionally done 6 cylinder conversion by a shop in Columbia, Steve is now driving a beautiful Chrome Yellow 914/6. Steve has since moved to Chandler, AZ due to a work transfer. Gary

Thanks Gary,
Yeah it looked like a sweet ride, what little I saw of it zoooming down the road. Had it worked on in Columbia? If you ever here from him would you mind asking him who did the work? I live here in Columbia and might like to check out their place. Thanks Steve

Steve,
I'll send him an e-mail and ask the name of the shop. He's scheduled to be back in the area in mid June, but not with his car. I've never seen his car in person, only in photos he's sent me. I was out east when he was having his car rebuilt.

Gary,
Thanks, I'm in need of a front end alignment so I think I'll stop by there next week and see if he can help me out. Steve

Hey Gang,
Look'n like rain here. I check the weather map in the morning, but, if it's looking like rain I'll be a no show. I'm in need of a lot of rubber seals so the 914 leaks like crazy; and without a rain guard over the engine she gets pretty tempermental when the sun doesn't shine. Steve

Steve,
I think that everyone is feeling the same way about the rain...I'll be there but not in a P car....I started this...so I'll be there... we need a weatherman on staff to determine our get togethers... Ed

Yes this is disappointing... I was really looking forward to meeting some other 914 owners.
Oh well let me know when the next get together is. Steve....

Steve,
When the lunch is rescheduled, I assume you'd be coming in on Hwy 70. Since I live just off of 70, past the Lake St. Louis exit, we could meet somewhere and continue on as a small 914 convoy.

Steve,
Not sure if you're a member of PCA, but this past weekend we had a road trip followed by a winery tour at Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta. I was the only 914 out of 15 cars. Read "St. Louis PCA Winery Tour" thread that I posted on Sunday, 5/2/04.
