radio antenna
My '74 has no antenna-so poor reception. Has anyone else run across this? Should i drill a hole for an antenna or is there a way to get reception without drilling my fender? Thanks!

try mountin your antana somewhere else, like under the cowl panel. find out where the guys who shave their cars put their antanae, i'm sure they have radios in their vehicles.

I mounted an electric antenna in the left hand side of the engine compartment, right behind the relay box. The top of the mast is fastened in the small grill on the left side. I just clipped out a small area of the grill. Very easy to install and you can hardly even see it. I ran the wires and cable under the carpet next to the e-brake lever. Easier than going down the center.

When I bought my car, it didn't have a hole for an antenna. I didn't feel like drilling one, so I ran down to Pep Boys and spent $11 on a wire/tape antenna that runs around the edge of the windshield. It is a thin wire, with clear tape on it. If you actually tape it to the windshield, it doesn't look very good. Ask me how I know. But if you run it along the edge of the interior that butts up against the windshield, it is out of sight and works great. Doesn't that sound easier than cutting a hole in your car? Plus it's cheaper than most antennas. Works for me, I would do it again. If you try it and you don't like it, your out 11 bucks. Big deal.
