price for 914 heads
I'm doing some research on 1.8 914 heads. What can I expect to pay for a good used set?

i would say 150-200 for a set of good usable heads. the 1.8 head should be a vw head so i'd say common and low cost.

Thanks Jim. I was under the impression that the 914 head was designed differently than the VW. Maybe I'm thinking about a different displacemnet 914 head.

yes, the 2.0L heads are unique. they supposedly are porsche design. the spark plugs are at a different angle than the vw heads (1.7&1.8) so the engine sheet metal should be different. the ole recognition fact is that there are 3 studs to mount the intake manifold on the 2.0L heads while there are 4 studs for the vw heads. that makes the 2.0L heads rarer which translates to more $$. i read an article about mark stephans hp converting 1.8L heads to 2.0L heads.
