V8 score!!!

I went to D&G to sell some stuff. I'm not gonna buy enything unless it is with money made at the swap meet. I was doing good, pulled in about $80 bucks. Then Dean pulls up with this ugly red Rayco bodied V8 car. The engine sounds sweet!. I checked out the car but I did not even look at teh price because: A- I am not buying anything today.
B-I have my V8 project at home, i have every top notch part to do my conversion.
C- I'm not a fan of the Rayco kit.
D- this one is ugly.
I talked to him about the car and bought his trailing arm stiffeners for $30. The engine sounds like a well built 350 and it is. Then I noticed the price on his sign, 4K OBO. Dean told me I was teh only person to ask about the car. why? perhaps it was fate. We went for a drive, shook hands and, I now own this car and OMG is it fast! We got back from the ride and suddenly everyone wanted to make an offer on the car....after I had allready made the deal. I got a special message for that skinny cocroach with the cain that bought my oil cooler. I cant wait to see him again.
I drove it back Wed to SD at 80 to 90 mph, taunting Vettes and rice burners. she runs about 200-220 deg on teh freeway, but 185 in traffic.

deos anyone know this conversion? it is not Renegade or Rod Simpson. Dean said that a guy at Cosworth Racing did this conversion.

4 grand!! That rocks! All that car needs is a little TLC. Strip it down and make it a street/race car. Looks don't matter much if you say it is bare bones for weight savings.

Have fun and keep us posted on problems or updates.

It's a standard 901. It has solid mounts which may be throwing you off.

Get some bigger meats (rim/tire combo) on that thing and it would look a helluva lot better. Nice steal for $3k!

I removed teh diagonal brace and it still needs about 1/4 to clear. It had a triangle fly eye but those things let dirt in and kill rings

the large mouth of teh Rayco kit's nose is duckted to teh top of teh RAD. Rad is mounted almost flat to teh gnd. there is an 18 in fan on teh bottom of teh rad. rad hot air is duckted out under teh front trunk. in front of teh rad exhaust hole there is an air dam to create a low pressure area behind it. In town and traffic, the engine stays around 180. I let it sit in teh driveway idling for a long time and it stayed at 180. on teh freeway it likes to live around 210 (riverside to SD @ 85mph avg) Temp quickly rises to 220 if I romp on it. The car has very good in town manners. It is quiet and smooth if I just idle from gear to gear. I am on my 4th tank of gas in a week
0-5 mph is hard on teh clutch. 5-35mph in 1st gear is nice and mellow.

tranny gears are : F,V,N,H

Yes, but that is a bad place because it is on teh "cool side" of the thermosatat. the thermostat must open for it to display your eng temp. If thermostat goes bad, you would find out about it after it boils over. I like it on teh hot side of the thermostat. you can watch your thermostat open up. In the head is the "hot side"

Guy have you had a chance to drive your car much yet? I just wondered how that water pump is working for you. I read that you had the exhaust done so I figured that you were driving it.

Lets see some pictures of your PIPE'S
