Okay, finally and definitively!!
Is there ANY year FRONT 5-Lug 911 parts (hubs/rotors/calipers) that WILL bolt onto a 914 without modification? ANY? I have people emailing me saying they have early 911 hubs-rotors and calipers / brakes that bolt onto a 914. From what I've been told this is a NO. TIA Bob

Heya Ghost
FWIW, I have a '73, and I swapped out to '73 911 strut assemblies, including the rotors and calipers. Bolted up perfectly to the 914 arms, and took very little time to do, as well. Rear hubs and 916 rear rotors are from FAT - they mounted perfectly on the rear, with no mods to the calipers either. Dizzat help at all? Cheers Jeff

Yep, it all helps.
I have had replies to my wanting 4 /5 lug conversion parts stating that there are 911 parts that simply bolt on- W/O a strut swap.. I didn't think so. Bob O

You know I didn't catch the part about keeping the 914 struts. So are you still thinking of doing it?

I was figuring on the weld and drill method, and keep my struts and brakes- but I have NEW 5 lug rear rotors.
My car has a 1.8, and is only driven on the street...and never TOO hard, and I will probably run 5.5"x14's in the winter and 6x15"s in the summer....so not too much grip there. I figure I'm out of danger of them braking, I'm still "on the fence" about it all...the 2liter wheels look great- so what am I gaining.. ..? I dont know either... .I'll probably just keep collecting parts until i piece it all together with the least amount of work and cost. -Bob O -I just wanted to be able to point to some evidence when someone says they have 911 stuff that will bolt on.

Just replace the front struts to 911s and everything bolts right up. It's cheaper and easier than messing with mods, and in the log run, you have better parts that will be easier to replace if you ever need to. I did my front end by finding a complete set of struts/rotors/calipers (M) from a 73 911 T (and got the rear calipers/rotors/e-brakes) for $400. I had the front end done in one day (including rebuilding the brakes and getting everything cleaned up). It's a no brainer.
