Correct Sway Bar Parts
I have a 1972 1.7L that i'm trying to put a stock sway bar on. I bought it on ebay. It did not come COMPLETE.
Has anyone tried to use the Weltmeister front triangle mount adapter kit (requires gas tank removal) SB-1955 or the Weltmeister U-tab kit SB-1900 with the stock sway bar. I also got a set of the Front Sway Bar Drop Link Bushings (stock bar), set of 4 PB-1013 but the inner metal sleves seem to large for the stock bolts. Should I just drill out everything for larger bolts? And does anyone know the correct part number for the two bushing that the sway bar goes thru. Thanks, Chris. |

Use the Weltmeister triangle kit--the one that requires removing the tank. The no-tank-removal kit sucks big-time; it's just two U-bolts and it's a weak system that will tear through your inner fender. The triangle kit should work with the stock sway bar, as long as you use the stock outer cover and stock bushings. You might be able to use the Weltmeister outer cover and stock bushings, I'm not sure.
The U-tab kit should work with either stock or aftermarket bars. Not sure about the drop link bushings. PN for front sway bar bushings: 901.343.792.02 . --DD
