NPC: Is Honda back?
In Formula 1, that is. Jenson Button took pole position for the San Marino GP and finished second in his BAR Honda. Will this be the start of Honda dominance in F1 like they did in the eighties and early nineties?

I don't know, but at least it gives the other manufacturers an incentive to improve their cars now!!
Heh, what happened--did Schumi's car collide with someone else's? ![]() --DD

As you probably heard, Steve Magett (sp?) reported that the Honda engine in the BAR is producing 920 bhp - out of 3.0 liters of normally-aspirated displacement. Wow, over 300 bhp/l, kind of blows your mind.
I also noticed that on the turn just before the S/F line, the Ferrari was peaking at 19,200 rpm. |

A few years ago I remember hearing that the 3.0L motors were making about 800hp and turned a maximum of about 18000 rpm! Things evolve quickly in F1 but I wonder how quickly this technology (improved designs, engine management, materials etc.) makes it down to the production cars ...
