914 front calipers
Have just completed rebuild but now the top bleeder screw leaks around the threads(where bleed screw enters the caliper housing) It did not leak before the rebuild. Am afraid if I really tighten it down it may strip. Any tips/suggestions on how to stop the leak?
Leak is not serious, but it shouldn't leak at all. |

Try a new bleeder screw as they have a seating surface that should seal against the caliper. It could be damaged or have dirt in that area. To prevent all the fluid draining out when you pull the vent screw, put some saran wrap under the cap and replace it on the reseviour. Good luck

I tried the teflon tape as suggested by mikez and so far it has worked fine. It has been about a week and no leaks. Thanks for all suggestions.
