over at ebay there are a couple

examples of how NOT to do a V8 mod. Why does everyone want a chevy 350? I'm partial to my ford 5.0.

actually I don't have my 92 mustang 5.0, anymore, traded it in on the 4.6gt (sucks for torque, power band starts at 3500 rpm) in 1998, got 130k on it!

Now I have been dreaming about the new Mustang, this time I'm going for the Power.

Are there internal kits for the 914 transmission
or will upgrading the cv axles be enough?

Chevy 350's just make more power in general. Nowadays the Cobra Mustangs need a supercharger, & 32 valves; yet the GM LS1's with little mods (cam, headers, torque converter) you're in the high 11's.

If you're a Ford guy, then you have to have a Mustang; but if you're open to it, get in a 1999 or 2000 Trans Am. Much better base car (suspension, brakes, creature comforts, and looks).

Just my .02

Eddie.

I hate the looks of those

Trans Ams with all the curves and hood openings, reminds me of a big flat nose.

Speaking of ugly, that BMW roadster in flat out gross to look at, another one of those what were they thinking?

I believe that the Ford is more problematical to fit than the SBC. Since the distributor is at the other end of the engine, it hits the firewall which is a lot harder to notch than the trunk lip. It may also be slightly longer...

Not to mention the SBC is dirt cheap.

SBCs give you lots of flexibility, it's possible to have anything from a 283 to a 400 cu with the same external block dimensions. And it's possible to build a variety of engine from a 350 block alone. And that doesn't include all the things you can do with the heads and different cams and aftermarket valve train components. There's a lot to play with on these motors.
