Porsche Crest Finally getting back to my 914 project!

After a long (way too long) hiatus, I have finally gotten some more work done on my 914 /6 conversion. About a week ago I took the aluminum crossmember and front hubs to Zim's to get them tumbled, and sent out the front end pieces plus some other miscellaneous pieces out to the powder coaters. Saturday Betty and I took the new car and drove the hour long drive to Mesquite (for those of you who are not from the DFW area, it's all the way on the east side of Dallas, and I live in a suburb of Ft. Worth) to pick them up. We had to wait about 30 minutes for them to cool enough for us to put them in the car.

I immediately started assembling the struts when I got home. Sunday I
put the whole front end and the pedal box on the car. I have pictures here, but please note... they have not been sized down and therefore they are not for the bandwidth limited viewer.

The pedal box has an original 914/6 bellcrank for the hand throttle (almost a necessity on a MFI car). In the pictures you see a stock sway bar. It will eventually be changed after I get the rest of the suspension sorted out. The shocks are Koni Red adjustables. The rack is a slightly modified 914 piece (the guts came from a 930, and it only has
2 turns lock to lock.

I still have plenty to do... I got the steering column installed one tooth off in the u-joint and I can't put the pinch bolt. I also Have the seat tracks to install.

Looks sweet, did you powdercoat or paint all those interior bits (pedals/seat brakets/etc)? I'm sure that 2.4MFI will be a hoot!

Everything in the pictures was powdercoated. Next is the rear suspension and brakes!
