Need suggestions for hood alignment.

Well I am at my wits end.
I have a hood that is in perfect shape but after MAJOR bodywork to the front it slides 1/4" to the side upon closing. I have tried the few tricks I know to find out what is causing the shift but I have ran out of ideas.
The clearance is fine around the hood edge, it just does not sit right.
If anyone knows a bodyman who will travel to the car in the South Bay CA let me know!

Thanks
Rich Hilgersom

Sounds like the latch is off cener. I think the mounting holes are elongated to allow some ajustment, maybe that;s the back ones, sorry I don't remember.

Try removing the top latch, close the hood. If it sitts right without a latch then the latch is at fault. If it is still off I'd see if the hinges don't have a seized pin or are bent from a PO who had the hood fly up on him/her.

BTW I've got one 914 with a hood that flew up on TWO PO's my buddy has one that flew up once on the PO so it is fairly common and not only screws up the hood (it actually bend forward for some reason) but the corners of the cowl and the hinges.

It just got shorter. I got rid of that silver car, no place to store it.
