1.7 Engine Problems

Guys I've just installed a 1.7 in my 71. I hooked up all wires, but it still won't start. My question is does the oil bath & all hoses to it need to be hooked up for it start? Especially the one to the cold start valve?

Hmm, I think that we need a few more details here. The hoses to the oil bath really shouldn't make a difference at least for getting it to start.

The cold start valve should be hooked up, otherwise you won't get the extra burst of fuel that you need upon starting.

Check to make sure that you are getting fuel out of your injectors. Then check to make sure that you have a spark. With these two critical items, your car should at least start.

Now getting it to run well is a whole other story.

Hope this helps,

Wayne
