are you serious??? it's on-line, no need to kill a few hundred trees for something that gets tossed in the trash

also, if you are looking for a part and do not see it, e-mail or call and ask, there is a good chance that they just not have had the chance to list it yet.....

I thought the answer was pretty loudly implied.

No, there is not going to be a paper catalog. Not unless you print one out from the website yourself. If you want a copy of the catalog you can take with you, get the website on CD.

For a more serious answer, let me let you in on a little secret.

In order to print a catalog, we would have to pay for it. In order to compensate for this service being provided, and not take a profit loss for people to sit on the toilet and shop, we would have to charge you more for your parts.

WE DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT!!!

The whole point of our website is to make owning one of these a little more affordable to own, by providing you with quality OEM and aftermarket parts, and a incredible amount of FREE resources to help you in your quest for "excellence"... Not to mention giving a bunch of guys (and a few girls) a place to sit around and talk about stuff their spouses don't care about

I hope this answers your question...

PS - I decline to share my position on trees at this time.

Ok, I too would really like for you guys to have a catalog. I mean it would really be nice just to look through to get ideas and everything. I like reading something out of a book alot more than looking at a computer screen. Could the cost of a catalog be offset by charging like 5 bucks a catalog? I think you guys could probably get a little more business with something like that any way. I do appreciate what you guys do and everything, but changes aren't always bad.

and on the tree thing, people that say making a catalog is killing our forests are just way out of the loop. You guys probably don't realize that all sorts of trees are being cut down in southern cali because of bug infestation and trying to prevent forest fires. Smart logging practices are the most effective way to keep everyone happy. Misinformed people think that no trees should ever be cut down, but that's because they haven't ever been in the woods. And I'm a democrat...and yes clear cutting is bad. Sorry bout the non porsche content, but it is fun to drive down a nice winding road throught the forest in a 914. How's that?

If i had to pay 5 or 6 dollars for a catalog i would be happy i think that if u made catalogs that u would get much petter advertisement. If i was PP i would give it a second thought and try to come out with a paper catalog.

Does anybody remember Automotion? They sold out to Performance Products a handful or two of years ago, but before that they were a pretty good Porsche parts place up in the SF Bay Area. They had a really great catalog--very nicely laid out, a pleasure to read, good pictures, and so on. It was their biggest "thing", in fact.

They came up with that catalog in the mid- to late-80s. They used it, with very very minor changes, up until they closed shop. Rumor had it that nice shiny catalog cost well over a million dollars to put together...

Did I mention that their prices were among the highest of any mail-order outfit?

I loved the old Automotion catalog and the new Perf. Pro. catalog that I gladly paid for. There's a lot to be said for a good quality well organized catalog, especially for those who have yet to enter the computer age.

But I buy almost everything form this site because it is much less expensive, they have this board and great tech articles; and once you get used to navigating the site its every bit as friendly as a paper catalog. I would also buy a paper catalog if Pelican offered one.

I have heard the JC Whitney had financial problems some time back related to the cost of it's catalogs vs sales generated.
