You going to mate the VR6 to the tranny and test fit the assembly in the engine compartment soon? I'm hoping the tranny can be mounted in the stock position to maintain the proper drive axle geometry. It will be very interesting to see.

my type IV 1.8 is still in the car, I "think" I am going to keep on working on it to get it running perfect, that way it'll be easier to sell...
it'll be a while till i test fit the VR6 in the engine compartment...what I'll do once I bolt up the engine and transmission this weekend and take measurements and make some wooden/cardboard templates of the engine combo to get a better feel for how it will fit. |
any new progress on the 914 vr6 conversion?
|
That was about three or five plans ago. The car, as I understand it, has gone to a new home, and had a 2.0 Type IV with either L-jet or Megasquirt on it.

I've toyed around the idea of a 914 TDI. May not be that fast but at $3/gal im thinking the 50mpg would be nice.

The 1.8T motor would get both good MPG and have some hp, over 200hp with a chip.
In my heavy 2003 Passat I get 40 easy on the freeway, 45 is the best. |
