hey everyone, i'm parting out one that has air conditioning and i'm wondering what this thing is in the front trunk and what they usually sell for, any ideas?? it's out of a 73.

that is the box that holds the ac evaporatoe or condenser (usually in front of radiator on water cooled) it also supports the spare tire plastic thingy

thanks for your help. does anyone know what the used ac system should go for when i sell it. i really don't know what their worth yet. any ideas.

If you're selling the complete system, the condensor (shown above), the evaporator & fan under the dash, and all wiring you should be able to get a few hundered dollars for all of it. But that will really depend on how many others are available at the time, the condition of the parts, if you have the older or newer compressor, etc. If all works in your favor, you could get more than $500.

...I've also seen complete (allegedly!) systems literally given away for free. And sit for a while before someone took them.

I've no idea what they're really worth; sounds like that's pretty common even with people who are buying them.
