custom-matched touchup paint - where???

Hi all,

For weeks I've been trying to find a place in the L.A. basin that can custom match touchup paint for my 914 (L65K Ravenna Green). So far all I have found is Finishmaster (formerly Thompson PBE) in Santa Monica, who can match and mix up a pint of paint for me, but they said it will be difficult to use -- won't dry well/quickly -- for touchup without the activator or catalyst or whatever is generally added to it for spraygun use. Plus, I have to buy a whole pint for ~$40 when I only need a tiny amount, but that's not a big deal.

Anybody know of a place who can put the paint in a spraycan or touchup vial? I've heard of such things but I can't find a shop to do it!

TIA,

Chris Campbell.

Chris...don't laugh...but try Pep Boys. They have some....shall we say "interesting" colors for the skinny tired, asphalt scraper crowd...

It comes in a bottle with a brush and the stuff I have has lasted two years...

Michael,

I checked PB and Kragen...they do have a color that is kinda like one of those greeeeen highlighters, but not enough yellow to match ravenna decently. And the yellow doesn't have enough green...I'm headed to the paint shop right now.

Find a shop that sells Dupont automotive paints and they usually can load spray cans. When I had my daughter's car painted I had 4 cans loaded ( approx $6.00 per can) and used one to paint her helmet to match the car. They still have a pint minimum I think?? If no shops in the LA area can do it I would be VERY surprised, but Jerauld's Paint and Autobody supplies in National City CA is where I bought mine. Good luck.
