I only have a 1970 914.
Its the 970th one off the line and works hard to take me back and forth from my home in Florida to school in Colorado. It likes taking trips to the beach and up to the mountains skiing. Damn these cars are fun! |
I guess I'll play too--
72' 914 1.7L 98' Ford Contour GL 2.0L (wifes car) 99' Toyota Tacoma 2.4l (my daily driver) 97' BMW F650ST (if you don't know, its a motorcycle) Not a bad topic, but how about listing all the cars we wish we still had? 1994 SVT Cobra (had to sell when I bought house) 1988 Nissan 300ZX (had to have the Cobra) 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix (would still have this one but some theif thought he needed it more than me) 1972 Buick Skylark (big as a house but pretty fast with a fresh 350 and $60 worth of tires {price for all 4}) |
Had to get my $0.02 in here too!
I've got: 1974 914 with a 1974 2.7S motor 1982 911SC 1983 944 1960 356 Coupe 1988 Nissan Pathfinder (Pelican Mobile) Pelican is going to be branching out into more parts offerings real soon (BMW coming next week I think). Would you guys buy from us for your other cars? (that is if you buy from us now...) http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif Thanks, Wayne ------------------ Pelican Parts has the best in both Parts and Tech Support. '94 Volvo 850 Turbo sportwagon (hers) '76 Porsche 914 2.0 (mine) |

1973 914 1.7 (project) 1967 VW Baja Bug 1977 Trans Am 1957 GMC stepside 1949 Chevy Deluxe 1984 Chevy C-10 1998 Chevy Blazer 1998 Harley Heritage Softail |
75 914 - stock 1.8L
88 Honda Civic Hbk 81 Isuzu diesel P'up 82 Honda 750 Nighthawk Now when you think about it, I must be pretty confused when I drive. The only thing these have in common is that they are all 4 cylinder / manual transmission vehicles. None of them have the same shift pattern. One is an air cooled gas rear drive (2x) One is an air cooled gas rear drive (1x) One is a water cooled gas front drive (2x) One is a water cooled diesel 4WD. Ascaris |
Oh, why not...
75 914 1.8 (finally got smogged...woohoo!) 95 Pathfinder 4x4 (with goldfish and gummi bears ground into the back seats) 92 VW Cabrio (wife's car) someday a sport bike (after a new fence and new gas range) 1 wife (wants me to get the sport bike...imagine that) 2 kids (responsible for mashing food products into pathfinder seats) 1 Beagle (low to the ground...fast cornering) 1 Cat (persian mutt) 2 rats 3 fish |

'72 1.7L apperance package, also came with two snow tires, ergo R.I.P. (Rust in Peace) '74 1.8L that has the donated 1.7L. Getting bad though, front clip was welded on sometime in the past, lots-o-rust '75 2.0L A/C, new Bilsteins, ball joints, turbo tie rods, ATS German mag wheels, new interior, fuel injection, SSI heat exchangers, and looks like a hail storm hit it, actually the PO's girlfriend (ex-girlfriend I assume) took a 7 iron to it right out of the paint shop. '76 912E I just had to have something that was galvinized with a 914 motor in it. '93 F-150 Lightning Technicaly it's been "repossesed" by my mother since she sold her lemon Eagle Vision. Used to do 14.5 1/4 mile but had to "de-tune" things a bit for mom. |

Too much fun not to play:
1974 914 2.0 1986 Toyota p/u (hauler for Tony 100-cc kart that I just sold) 1999 Honda Raccoon Compact Shuttle (it's an electric-assist, folding bike) Interesting sidelight: Took a borrowed Lexus IS 300 down to pick up my new 27" color TV--wouldn't fit in trunk or back seat. So I went back to get my trusty 914, which easily accommodated the set in the rear trunk (with the lid mostly open, and secured with twine, of course). Take that, sport-utes! |
I'm new to this list.
My car is a '98 VW Jetta TDI that I've added a few things to: Chip, exhaust, suspension. Not a bad combination of economy and power. I can keep up with VR6s while returning 40MPG. I'm about to by my brother's '75 914 1.8 and will be asking a few questions here. For now, sleep. |
