1.7L Auxiliary Air Regulator
If the Auxiliary Air Regulator bad would it cause the car not to start?

There is a test here somewhere that you can do to tell if it is working. Don't flame me if I am worng but I believe it went something like this. Hook the red wire to the positive side and ground side to the case of the AAR and in a few minutes it should heat up and close.

It's possible a bad one could cause a no-start, but not that likely IMHO. In fact, I think the most common way one would cause that is by blowing the fuel pump fuse (which also powers the AAR).
They are NLA new, used is probably your only option. --DD
