CV's, how to take them off?
Since the club site is down, im resorting to here!!!
Havent been here for a while.. Anyways, The cv/half shafts... The trani side is simple.. unbolt.. The wheel side, do you have to take the big ars nut off?? ie with a 300lb or so breaker bar? broke mine in my v8... :D First time! once i get it fixed im going to do my first burnout and my first dougnut! then if it breaks again, I know that its the problem and I need to get better ones!!! :p Andrew |
Well, you will need bigger ones I can promise you that. Anyway, you can get it out without removing the stub axle, you have to unbolt it and then use the axle like a puller. They have been in there a long time but they will come off. Good luck Andy.

same 12 point tool, on a socket..... with an extension.....
at least you dint break your tranny./.....yet |
I broke 2 sets of CV's with a modified 1.7 liter many years ago. So I know your V8 will tear them apart. You could start the cheap way, use Bus axles and CV's with an adapter. It will be as strong as using ones from a 911. Just a thought.

go 930's, all the high HP sandrail guys do

you can do V8 burn outs all day long without breaking CVs. DO NOT SIDE-STEP THE CLUTCH. from a rolling start, with clutch fully engaged, roll into teh gas pedal 1/2 way them floor it but no stomping. add a little brake and watch em bake. watch your tach! Grove st is still tatooed after all teh rain. no one leggers here!
