Starter-Help Me ob1-kanobie!

Hello All. Please, your ideas on this. Got a 76'-2.ol. Over the last couple of months starter works intermittent. Now it will not crank the engine. Check batt, cables, connections, all ok... The only way to drive it is bump starting. My muscles are really getting sore... Any ideas? Thanks group! Bob

The starter is getting pretty old I would guess, I'd recommend getting an IMI hi-torque starter, for a type IV Porsche (not bus) they are less than $200. I have one on both our 914's and they are great.

Ground strap on top of transmission would be my first guess
