I am putting some empi valve lash caps on my 2.0 L to "clean up" the valve lash setting. Some of my valves are dished on the top of the stems. It seems that there is a little interference between the lash cap and the tip of the rocker arm. do I grind off the rocker arm tip a bit for clearance?
Has any body got any ideas about the proper way to install these things? |

I'd be leary of grinding off that surface, good chance it is hardened and you'll be left with a softer metal which will wear rapidly....you could add shims under the rocker arm assemblies, but then you're pushrods will be too short....

It's cool to grind off some of the rocker arm as long as you're not talking about the adjuster screw or the valve. This is done all the time when folks replace the stock adjuster screws with the 911 swivel-foot type...

I keep hearing the number 0.060" thrown around in that context...
