I'm looking to buy some used seats, and I recall a thread (here or maybe 914 club) discussing the cheapest shipping. I've been searching, but cannot relocate. Anybody got any good advise for shipping a pair of seats. Seems like I saw where you can fit 'em into a box such that shipping is only $41 instaed of $75, but I can't find it now. Help? Please?

I have sold two sets of 914 seats on E-Bay over the past year. Both sets cost me about $40 to ship via FedEx Ground.
I used a large box that was for an office chair but I cut it down to the exact size that I needed for the 914 seats. Both sets of seats were shipped from Calif to NY & Florida. I think one set was $38 and the other was $40 for shipping. I always ship my larger items via FedEx Ground. I have found US Mail & UPS to cost nearly double for big stuff. I still use US Mail for the small stuff. Also, since I set up a FedEx account, I just schedule a pickup and I don't even have to drive the stuff to FedEx. If anyone knows of cheaper (but reliable) shipping, I'd like to hear about it. Vern |
