what is the curb weight for the 1.7 914?

On the main page of this site, on the left side, under 914, you'll find a link called "Tech Specs". Click that, one of the links on that page is "Base Dimensions and Weight". That takes you to this page:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/914/technical_specs/914_weight_dim.htm

On that page, you'll find the DIN curb weight is listed at 970 kg / 2139lb.

I believe that is for the 73 or 74 cars, and that a 70 or 71 would be roughly 100 lbs lighter. There may be info in your owners manual if you have one.

My 72 1.7, with me and a full tank , and an 'appropriate' set of tools. 1000 kilos(2200 lbs) I'm 150 lbs.
This is weight on a government scale calibrated regularly and accurate to +/- 5 kilos
