914-6 Exhaust, headers question

I was looking to get some stainless header w/heat and found two sources.

B&B makes headers with heat at 1 3/4 or 1 5/8 diameter and GHL motorsports makes a 1 5/8 header with heat.

Anyone have any experience with these products?

Also, is the bigger diameter pipe better for my engine which is a 3.2l that's been ported/polished with GE 60's and J&E pistons?

Are there other alternatives I might have missed?

Thanks.

Smaller diameter suitable for up to 2.7 as I remember......larger diameter for anything above that.

I have heard, ummm, less than entirely complementary things about the fit of the aftermarket stainless steel heat exchangers. Two of the more-respected Six conversion folks have told me that they won't use anything other than stock exchangers or headers from now on. One talked about going around and around with one aftermarket supplier for several months before the exchangers "mostly" fit. The car he was working on has a visibly lopsided exhaust.

Not sure what to tell you, Olav. Might be best to go with headers and have one of the local fabricators wrap some kind of heat exchanger around them?

BTW, I love your car. I hope you're still enjoying the heck out of it!!

.......go with the headers and get your car on the road first. if you really need heat, follow dave's instructions of adding boxes to them. i went with the bursch setup and am very happy after all of the horror stories i also heard.
