Dead injector O-ring housing
I had my intake runners off for a cleaning today. I noticed that the O-ring housing on the left rear cylinder was dented pretty bad. The dent went inwards with a hairline crack along the outside.
I don't know how it happened, or how the injector O-ring even managed to stay seated with a dent like that in there. But it does explain the leaking fuel I'd always notice when the car was running. I tried heating the metal with a blowtorch for 5 minutes before attempting to bend it back but the dented fragment broke right off. So, my question is, it there a happy ending here? I think someone with some welding skills could probably fix this thing, but how easy is it to track down a spare intake runner for a 914?

I would think the intake runner would not be too hard to find. Check the Classifieds?
On the other hand, JB weld is some amazing stuff...... |

Yup, sourced some off Ebay this morning. It's a beautiful thing...
Anyone need a dead intake runner? I'm sure it would make a great snorkel, for the divers on the list!
