Hello Everyone, I have a nice 88 944 na and just picked up a 75 914 2.0. (finally). The motor and tranny for the 914 are out of the car ,tranny good, motor in pieces,(came with 8 2.0 litre heads) . I really want to build the 914 into something cool , custom body fab, fast motor etc. So, here is the question - Iam willing to sacrifice the 944 if any 944 parts are interchangeable with the 914... eg.suspension, brakes, hubs, power windows, anything? Or should I just sell the 944 to get the cash I will need for some other upgrade parts?
thanks in advance for any input . j.c. Last edited by j.collins; 07-03-2005 at 02:45 PM.. |

If you're creative, you can find a way to use the brakes. The wheels will be the wrong offsets, though. AFAIK, that's about all you can use without really major fabrication.

If the 944 really is "nice", you're better off selling it and using that money to buy parts that are built for the 914.

I heard of some people using the seat belts out of 924's and 944's, but I don't know what modifications you might have to use.

IIRC Wheels will work if you go five bolt. Offsets and bolt pattern is same as 911. Er.. Rear trunk light from 944 will fit hole in backpad for 914. ;-)
