Value of '73 2.0 L engine
I have someone interested in a 2.0 liter 914 motor that I have. The engine barely ran when in the car and has the fuel inj. still. The eng produced a great deal of white smoke, which I assume was gas. There was gas in the oil and if you look in the fuel intake on the head there is a crack next to the valves shaft. The engine also seems to have excessive crank endplay. Anyway, it was barely running when pulled. Can I get some ideas of its value? Thanks,

in my opinion, it is nothing more than a core engine. core engines go for $200-400

White smoke is oil burning. Definitely sounds like a core engine. If you were local to me, I would give you $400 for it.
