Painting Calipers and Struts

Greetings:
I'm working my way through my '73 914 restoration and have purchased the front suspension and brakes from a 1980 SC. The whole thing needs paint. I'm wondering what material is best - particularly for the calipers. Any suggestions?
TIA

Dave

I haven't tried it personally yet, but a friend used a kit from Performance Products or Automotion that looks very nice. Has cleaner-prep and paint. Automobile Atlanta has paint alone. Many of the tuner websites also mention caliber paint, but it's not cheap.

If you are going for stock look then this will not work for you what i did was use high quality laquor on the calapers geting the oil off of them is the fun part
(you can get good paint put into a ratel can so you dont have to mix a whole pot or screw with a gun)
susnention i would only powter coat it will look good and hold up beter than paint
this is what i have done and it looks good and has held up well

Thanks. I'll investigate this caliper paint further and powder coating as well. The parts are on the bench in need of a rebuild, so prep should be no big deal.

Those brakes on the Carrera GT are awesome (like the car) but are so big they probably wouldn't fit in the 914 wheel well!

Yellow would look cool.

Jeez. My finger is clearly not on the pulse! I'd been thinking of having the SC koni struts and the calipers done at the same time to save $2.38, but yellow would look good. My car is that very fast yellow too.
On second thought, maybe the bright colours would just draw attention to the stock 914 rear calipers. (Gotta have that emergency brake.) I'd been looking into spacers and vented rotors but decided to calm down and paint them instead. :-)
