Brad:
Keep us posted! I really like the idea of flashing the fog/driving lights! I lived in Germany for many years and got very used to using the "Licht-hupe" (light horn) for many small traffic situations (in Germany using the actual horn is for emergency use only! It is considered very rude to use the horn too much. Italy doesn't have that convention.) I still yank on the turn signal to let a trucker know he's clear to merge-- to no avail of course. ps I have had 100watt H4 high beams for a while and have had no problems with the stock relays. Perhaps I am unclear on which relays we are talking about. The relays in the front trunk, are they for the headlights and the motors or the motors alone? I have read both sides of the coin. Some people have problems and have to add a relay, some don't. ------------------ Herb |

On the later cars, the fog light fuse is a 16A one. The H3 bulbs I installed are either 55W or 60W. At 14V nominal, you get 8.6 amps draw for two 60V bulbs. Even at 12V, you still get just 10A, which is well under the stock fuse rating for my 74.
I don't remember when the fog light fuse was changed. It may have been as early as 72. --DD |
