Seatbelt interlock

I know this has been discussed somewhat before, but just looking for a clarification. I have a '74 1.8 and the interlock device has been bypassed, the question is can the hardware under the passenger seat be removed once it has been bypassed?

By "hardware", what exactly do you mean? Do you mean the relay? Yes. Do you mean the "buzzer"? Sort of--only if you don't want the buzzer function. Do you mean the bracketry? Only if you want to lose the buzzer and the relay, and make sure the wires are connected properly. Do you mean all of the wiring? Nope, much of it has to remain properly hooked together.
