forgotten some wiring
So I'm putting my engine and tranny back in after two years of being apart and am finishing up the last little bit of wiring. I bought a better used fi wiring harness, and am putting it in right now. I'm kind of stuck though.
I've got a 72 with the 1.7, and it's still got the stock fi on it. On the fi wiring harness (the white harness) I've got three sets of two white wires and I'm not sure where they go, and they all come out at the same spot on the passenger side of the air filter. Then on the drivers side I've got a two prong plug next to the throttle body that I'm not sure where it goes. It comes out with the plug for the throttle body. Also I've got a brown wire that comes out next to the oil pressure sending wire from the black harness that I'm not sure where it goes. And lastly, where does the auxilary air valve plug into? Once it's all plugged in I get to figure out what I missed and is still messed up, then it might start. thanks in advance

Look closely on the white wires. There should be small numbers printed on them every inch or so. Those numbers refer back to the pin numbers on the ECU. Once you know what wire you have you can use the wiring diagram to confirm what wire connects to what.

Well I plugged everything in, and I think that this harness might be a later model D jet harness. The only thing I can't find is the one plug that comes off by the throttle body with two wires. I think the label on it says something like mass air flow sensor. I've been going through and cleaning up the contacts and putting on dielectric grease.
Now I've gotten to the point where the coil has power, but the fuel pump isn't working, and the starter isn't doing anything. There is some clicking coming from in the engine compartment when I turn it to the start position though. Any suggestions other than just picking stuff off one by one?

That one is for the air temp sensor in the manifold, most likely.
The FI wiring harness should not have anything to do with the starter. Check the yellow wire that plugs into the starter to see if you have +12V to it when the key is turned to "start". If not, trace the wire back through the wiring diagram (should go to the relay board, then into the main harness, then to the ignition switch) and check at each location to see where you're losing the power. Check the articles I posted earlier for fuel pump troubleshooting. --DD

when I was messing around with the rest of the wiring harness I knocked off the yellow wire, so I put a new end on it so it's tighter and it works fine now. I'm checking into the fuel pump tonight, and we'll see what I can come up with.
